The Grandview Hotel
The Grandview Hotel was made over as a 1930’s hotel for the world famous movie Australia. The Grandview also provided meals for actors and crew including renowned actors Hugh Jackman and Nicole Kidman. The bar is a great place to catch all the stories from the locals and hear the history of the hotel. Decorated in a saloon style the hotel transports patrons back into to the early settling times in Australia’s history.

What a fantastic idea – pick the best view in Bowen and stick a restaurant on top of it!! Add a bit of history and you’ve got a great place to visit. Follow the signs to the Flagstaff Hill Interpretive Centre.
There’s plenty of parking, and diners can enjoy the view from many angles before actually going in to the restaurant. To eat there is a choice of either sitting outside on verandahs facing either the ocean or inland or opting for inside. The menu is reasonably priced and diverse. You can read about the history of Bowen while waiting for your meals, or go up to an observation deck for an even better view of the surroundings.

Le Sorrelle Coffee House
Wonderful coffee, delicious food with large serves, great atmosphere and layout – refreshing decor, fast, professional and friendly service and reasonable prices – what more could you ask for? From the moment you walk into this busy little shop, you get the sense that you are in for a treat. Part of the shop is designated as a quaint little florist and gift shop, and the specialty fudge made in store is to die for. Lactose free milk and gluten free meals are also on offer.
